Exactly what I expected. First quality china. Just remember to put a spoon in the cup before pouring tea or it will crack.

What city do think should host WM 28?
i think London.I mean would make history as the first city to host WM outside the USA.We have three big stadiums to choose from to host the eventWembley Stadium. The 90,000 capacity venue is the second largest stadium in Europe, and serves as England's national stadium. It is the home venue of the England national football(Soccer) team, and hosts the latter stages of the top level domestic club cup competition, the FA Cup. It held UEFA five-star stadium status which was superseded by a new system of classification.http://www.freepicks.org/articles/nfl-football-2009/images/wembley-stadium1.jpghttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/16/Wembley_Stadium_interior.jpgTwickenham Stadium (usually known as just Twickenham or Twickers) is a stadium located in Twickenham, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It is the largest rugby union stadium in the United Kingdom and has recently been enlarged to seat 82,000. This makes it the second largest stadium in the UK after Wembley Stadium and the fourth albert Cup largest stadium in Europe. The stadium is the home of the Rugby Football Union (RFU), and as such primarily a venue for rugby union and hosts England's home test matches, as well as the Middlesex Sevens, the Guinness Premiership final, the EDF Energy Cup and Heineken Cup matches. The stadium is considered an icon of English rugby and the 2009/2010 season saw Twickenham celebrate its centenary. The 100th anniversary of the first international at HQ in 1910 was marked by the England team wearing a special commemorative shirt against Wales on February 6th and by a centenary book called Twickenham - 100 Years of Rugby's HQ.http://www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/Twickenham.gifhttp://www.rbs6nations.com/images/news/TwickenhamPA.jpgThe Emirates Stadium, often known simply as the Emirates, (IPA: /ði???m?r?ts/) formerly Ashburton Grove, is a football stadium located in Holloway in the London Borough of Islington and is the current home of Arsenal Football Club. The stadium opened in July 2006 and has an all seated capacity of 60,355, making it the second largest club stadium in England behind Manchester United's Old Trafford, and the third largest stadium of any kind in London, after Wembley and Twickenham, and overall the fifth largest football stadium in the United Kingdom. It was initially known as Ashburton Grove after the road it was located on, before a naming rights deal with the airline Emirates was struck in October 2004. The project cost £390 million, including the cost of the associated infrastructure.http://gunnernation.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/arsenal-emirates-stadium-london-general_10552663.jpghttp://www.wayfaring.info/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/emirates_stadium1.jpgAlso we have a great place to host the hall of fame induction ceremonyThe Royal Albert Hall is an arts venue situated in the Knightsbridge area of the City of Westminster, London, England, best known for holding the annual summer Proms concerts since 1941.http://mikebm.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/800px-royal_albert_hall.jpghttp://www.broadwayworld.com/columnpic/proms4601.jpgBut thats just me what about you

  1. The quality of Old Country Roses used to be excellent. In 2002-2003, they moved their production to Indonesia, and then to China. The quality has dropped substantially since then, and so have the prices. You get what you pay for.
    - China-made pieces are heavier and thicker
    - China-made pieces have less accurate gold-work
If its any consolation, all the major brands of fine china are shifting production to Asia from England and Europe, with commensurate decreases in quality, and sometimes in price.

  2. This is the best looking china I have ever owned!!! I have owned very expensive sets and none can compare to the look and feel of the Royal Doulton Old Country Rose collection. This is a must have for anyone looking for a classic set of china at a great price.

  3. I received as a gift, a set of four of these with 3 other plate sizes as well. It’s a very nice set for the money. I would have expected a better quality product but it is still a nice set. The china is not as thin as I would have expected, but again, for the price it is very nice. The pattern is classic and well done.

One of the cups was broken and they are already shipping the replacement, no questions asked. That’s customer service I can get on board with. I have another tea set that was made in Japan and hand painted, but so far, I think this is the better set simply because the company stands behind their product.

    A-

  4. i think i expected more since previous reviews have said this product was a 5 star. i was not impressed with the quality. i don’t know if i would get a better product if i were to order direct from royal albert

  5. This china is so gorgeous! No wimpy colors here, the blues & purple are bright & beautiful. It is too good to just sit in the china cabinet; it makes every cup of tea, coffee or eggnog a delight. Enjoying it is one way of being mindful, present and grateful. I have had this china for about 15 years and just never grow tired of it. The gold edges have not worn out. I do follow the manufacturer’s washing instructions exactly, so I’m sure that makes a difference. (Hand wash these dishes for long-term enjoyment). There was a time that the pattern was discontinued, but it is back in production so thankfully, there are no worries about replacing broken dishes. We have only had one break; it helps that we are careful. We have not had problems with knife marks on the plates. I should note that I do not serve anything that is difficult to cut on these, though. I’m just not brave enough! Yes, we’ll eat chicken on them, but not t-bone. So, even after 15 years of frequent use, I would still use this china for the most distinguished visitor. If you know the pope, president, somebody…. ? Send ‘em over!

  6. I am very pleased with the Royal Albert Dinnerware. Amazon’s price is very good, much better than the derpartment stores and the quality is very good also.

  7. I can only say that this was such a great deal!! This company is the greatest! I would buy from them again and again.

  8. I was very pleased with the china and the courtesy of the seller. The china was a gift and the recepient was delighted with it. Thanks for insuring quality merchandise.

  9. I bought this set after Christmas. The price was better than any of the stores I checked. Everything arrived in great condition in a Royal Doulton box. My mom just gave me all of her OCR china. I notice that the roses, especially the yellow ones, on the china that I bought from Amazon are not nearly as detailed as the roses on her china. The roses on my mom’s china are smooth and the roses on the new china have a printed dot texture to them. Also the gold trim on my mom’s dishes is much larger than the trim on the new ones. I am unsure if the china that I bought from Amazon is real. I will not buy china here again.
