In the Amazon/The Bowl Company add it was clearly indicated that a rim bowl was included for free in each place place setting ordered. The Bowl Company agreed indicated that he would make good on that representation in the advertisement. Later, The Bowl Company refused to honor their promise and Amazon did nothing to correct the situation either. Both Companies need an “ethics” course as I will never do business with them in the future!

What is the history of the Wedgwood Florentine Gold pattern?
I recently inherited a large set of Wedgwood dinnerware from my grandmoter, and from the serial numbers on back, discovered wedgwood Potpourri that it is the Wedgwood gold Florentine pattern. Apparently it's been discontinued, but that's all I've been able to find out. I'd love to know what years this pattern was produced, and any other information that's available. I know the internet is magical, but surprisingly, there's not much info to be found on this china pattern!

  1. I can go to BB&B and get a 5 piece place setting for a little over $100.00

  2. the cup of the first set of china arrived broken. amazon replaced it within a few days for free. i was very pleased with the quick turn-around.
packaging around the china could have been more cushioned and secure. the interior boxes were crushed in both shipments.

  3. My husband and I registered for the Nantucket Basket china pattern for our wedding. We received nearly the entire set including platters and other serving pieces. If you are looking for a classic, no fuss, beautiful, dishwasher safe, microwave safe china pattern, look no further!

This fine bone china is perfect for the modern world – It is beautiful on any table – and can be dressed up with chargers and napkins – you can ALWAYS change the look and formality of plain white china – it’s so versatile! Not to mention, clean-up is a breeze because of the dishwasher safe feature!

My husband and I use these dishes every day – we use them as our every day dinnerware as well as fine china for entertaining – we love it so much and cannot recommend it more!

We agreed on this pattern because of the fact that the basketweave pattern is very classic as well as modern – as it’s been around for years (i think it’s been a Wedgwood pattern for nearly 25 years) – It has staying power for replacements and also – it STILL looks modern – which was important to us in finding china – something that will remain beautiful for decades to come!

  4. I was looking for a china set for my mother-in-law and was considering some of the less expensive platinum designs, but thought the picture of the Wedgewood Signet Platinum looked more elegant. Because one really cannot appreciate fine china from a photo, I visited the local department store to compare the dishes up-front, and the Wedgewood won hands down. The quality of the bone china really shows — it has a luminescence that the less expensive contenders (Noritake, Mikasa) did not. Add to that the fact Wedgewood patterns are generally kept around longer than the less expensive rivals — in case she wants to add any pieces later — it seemed a superior choice. On the other hand, if you simply can’t afford the Wedgewood, the others were acceptable, but they don’t shine the way the Wedgewood does, and they feel much thicker and clumsier. The Wedgewood won out on the cup patterns as well — the Wedgewood has a lovely curved shape, while the Noritake is too angular, and the Mikasa has an ugly swirl on the handle. The Mikasa, although more similar to the Wedgewood pattern, did not match it in quality — not only were the plates bulkier and lacking the iridescence of fine bone china, but the platinum lines on the Mikasa did not appear to line up properly.

  5. Amazon had the lowest price for the pieces on the web. I bought these sets as gifts for my brother’s wedding, and he and his wife love these so much. They look beautiful, charming, and worth the money really if you can afford.

  6. I have returned both sets of this product that I ordered for replacement because both cups in the sets were chipped in almost the identical place. I want the dishes but I don’t want them broken.

  7. The service was fast and the Peter Rabbit baby china sets arrive in great shape in very attractive boxes! A real plus! Great experience would DEFINITELY buy from them again!

  8. My son received this gift as an infant back in 2002. Although it wasn’t used often it sure was loved when it was. I’m planning on purchasing this same set for my niece within the next few weeks and have purchased it in the past for baptism gifts. This will definitely be a set I pass along when my son has children of his own.

  9. Although advertised as an “original” Wedgwood set, this is actually a cheap and poorly made imitation made in China. The true original sets, made in England, were of a much superior quality in color and definition. I returned this product when I saw how poorly made it was.
