Sources of porcelain Cup

I bought these for making custard cups. They work great. They go in the oven no problem and also wash nicely in the dishwasher. They are a perfect size for individual desserts.

I poured some boiling liquid from a porcelain container into an porcelain Cup insulated cup and the fluid just suddenly shot?
out of the cup into the air and burned me. Why did this happen?

  1. The cup is made of porcelain and is heavy for a coffee cup, and the cap is rubbery and smells funny. Not very happy with the product. I got it because I cdn’t find any other microwavable cup less than 16oz.

  2. My son loved the simplicity of this cup. Keeps drinks warm for a long time. I ordered a couple extra lids. Biggest drawback is they are not diswasher safe but most insulated cups are not. The sleek white lines are just waiting for an artistic type to personalize it but looks great just the way it is. This same mug sells at the NY MOMA for almost twice the price.

  3. I love this cup and I plan to buy a 2-pack next time. No more wasting my money on bottled water at work. It keeps my drink cold even on a really hot day on the back deck, it doesn’t leak, and it doesn’t sweat all over the place. There are no flip top spouts or nasty straws that never quite come clean like a lot of the other bottles and cups I tried for work, and no screw on lids that are a pain in the neck. I hear the white lid can become stained, but the directions said that cleaning it with a little toothpaste or boiling it in water with some lemon juice does the trick. If not, who cares. I bought an extra lid that is black for tea and coffee drinking.

  4. First of all, I like being non-descript. I like that it looks like a throw away cup you get at the store but is secretly ceramic and re-usuable. It does everything a travel cup should do – not burn your fingers and not spill its contents easily. Only thing is I wish they made these a little bigger.

  5. I love these cups… to the reviewer to said they were too small (did you mistakenly buy the espresso set?) — these are plenty big enough to brew a traditional cap. They hold 6oz of liquid EASILY and 7.5 with a tiny bit of room at the top. Bought 1 set for Christmas and am purchasing another because we are so pleased with the set.

  6. These cups and saucers are the perfect size for cappuccino! The wire holder is great, as it keeps everything together and looks good enough to leave out on the kitchen counter.

  7. Fairly loosely packed in a larger box which showed no damage. When I opened them, the cups were fine, but the box of saucers rattled. The bottom saucer had cracked in half; the next one was in small pieces. Looks like it could have been a very useful product if only it had been packed better. Oh, and I get charged $7.35 for the pleasure of sending them back!

  8. These are very cute, but way too small for cappucino cups, so I’m not using them.

  9. The porcelain custard cups in question are marginal at best. One cup was chipped on arrival and another chip was discovered recently. Now the set is down to four. I would not purchase these again!

  10. I purchased these because I am on Weight Watchers and I’m being careful about what I eat. These are perfect for controlling my portions.
