What is a vintage hair receiver vanity jar and what does hair receiver mean?
I have a little floral porcelain vanity jar that is round, 4" wide, 3'1/2" tall with a lid that Limoges porcelain has a 1-1/2" hole in the top, a metal filigree band around the middle. The bottom is stamped with Limoges France (with a WG inbetween). I thought it was for potpourri, but while trying to find out more about it, I see that similar items are called "hair receiver" vanity jars. I am curious what "hair receiver" means, and how old this little jar is?
