Can anyone provide me with an email address for The National Museum of China?
I would like to contact a curator at The National Museum of China in Beijing so that I can email some photographs of a vintage item that I own that may have been made in China. I'm simply trying to find out what the item is, and any guess as to its age, purpose, place of origin, materials, etc.Please note: I'm in New York and I am not traveling to China. Vintage china I cannot bring the item anywhere as it is too big to carry. I think it's either a basket cradle for an infant, or a basket for winnowing grain which some later person then built a rocking platform for. It may be from around the 1950's or so. Perhaps some older person raised in China would recognize what it is. Can anyone supply me with an email address of someone who could look at the ten photographs?Thanks everyone. Emails to the museum bounce back undelivered. Timed out. I'll keep hunting for email addresses of Chinese cultural museums here in the States. The big one in San Francisco states on their website that they will not comment on any items that they do not own, so that's a dead end. But I'll keep hunting. (If you know any likely person or museum or gallery, let me know their email address and I'll email the photos to them.)
