   Purchased this dinnerware set as a Christmas gift for my parents, who are very particular. This set will be perfect for them because it is has everything they asked for: beautiful cream color with lots of interesting texture and very high quality. The neutral color can go with every tablescape. I got a great deal for this and free shipping is a nice touch. I would love to have this set for myself!

   I have been looking for a nice set of dinnerware for some time. I had seen this set before and liked it a lot. I love the off white because it works for any decor and any season, just change the tablecloth and accesories. The design is very delicate and elegant.
   I found this at a great price in Amazon and ordered 2 sets. The shipping was FREE and they were delivered really fast and in perfect condition.

   Do not buy these dishes the bowels are not sealed. They will absorb water instantly. The bowels will become a brownish tan which will not match the set.

   Purchased this set over 4 years ago and have used daily without quality control, shipping, chipping, absorbing, or discoloring problems. In fact, my husband loads up the dishes in the evening in our dishwasher willy-nilly. Last year I purchased Mikasa Italian Countryside 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 to add to my set as we were hosting a family stay (including children) for an extended period of time and I didn’t want to be constantly loading/unloading the dishwasher. I still receive compliments on the dinnerware. One of the features I really like in this dinnerware is the versatility when setting the table. You can use a wide variety of tablecloths, placemats, floral pieces etc and pull it off without a problem. Although creamy white the edge of the pieces have enough detail to be interesting without being fussy. I have brought a number of complementary pieces without problems.

   I was looking for something to replace the stoneware dishes that I purchased about 6 years ago. The dinner plates on my old stoneware cracked and chipped so easily that I was down to 5 from 12 orignal plates. I wanted something to last a lifetime without worrying about having to replace them in a few years. After much research, I decided on the Mikasa Antique White pattern. My only concern was that the style would be too “colonial” for my taste. I ordered them after only seeing a few pieces at a local Macy’s store. I ordered the 45 piece set from Mikasa because they had 20% off one item and free shipping. I ordered extra pieces from Amazon because they had the best price. When the dishes arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. They are beautiful and are a classic, timeless design that fits into any decor. They wash beautifully, stack easily in my cabinets and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they look and feel.

   After seeing this china in a local department store at what seemed a ridiculously low price I came to amazon.com to check reviews on it. The glowing reviews convinced me this was the set of white china I wanted. And I got a nice 20% discount by purchasing it at that department store and getting their credit card…icing on the cake.
   I purchased some other fill-in pieces here at amazon. I love this china. It’s clean design let’s my food do the talking. It goes in the dishwasher with no fear of something breaking. It looks great on the table even without food. And, judging by the other reviews here, I’ll have it forever.

   One quick note: a couple of the reviewers here stated they had a difficult time removing the stickers from the bottom of each piece. It’s a simple matter to remove them quickly and easily. Stack up the dishes and set them in the sink in hot water with a little bit of dishwashing liquid. Ten minutes later those stickers all but fall off. They’d probably come off in the dishwasher but then might clog the drain filter, so I think it’s best to let them soak in the sink a bit and then wipe off the labels.
   I highly recommend this set of china to anyone who’s looking for a clean design and everyday durability.

   Both my daughters and myself love this dinner set. This is our first set of higher quality china set. The shipping came in well-packed boxes, no damage would happen with this kind of packaging. So I decided to order another set of Mikasa fine dinnerware set from Amazon (without paying shipping and tax, it’ll be cheaper from Amazon and you don’t even need to wait for sales in local retail shops). We started using dish-washer for cleaning the dishes, so far so good. Not sure they will get chipped when time goes by. My daughters think the food become more delicious with these beautiful plates!

   The glasses are great looking, and have a really nice hand feel.
   However as another reviewer mentioned, they break easily as they are very thin at the top. They are also very tall–they don’t fit in the top rack of my dishwasher where I ordinarily put glasses, thus I put them on the bottom with heavier things and that has resulted in one broken glass so far. They would be hard to hand wash without breaking I think because they are so light and thin at the top, heavy on bottom and deep and narrow.

   For the price I have no regrets and am going to buy more, but if you are looking for something durable, these wouldn’t be it.

    Received every style of the Cheers line as wedding gifts. We love the appearance of the glasses, but have broken about one every two weeks while washing by hand. The glass is too thin. If you want to buy the Cheers collection, I would recommend the double old-fashioned glasses, which are the short ones and are made of thicker glass. Again, they look cool, but it’s not worth the pain of cut fingers and wasted purchases.

    Folks need to know that Mikasa has changed these glasses to have much thinner walls. The original product, which I own, have the thicker walls as shown in Amazon’s picture but this isn’t what you’ll get if you order these. I’ve notified them of this discrepancy. 5 stars go to the original product but their *new* version only gets 3 stars.

    I love the style of these glasses and begged my husband to let me buy them. Now that I have them I hate them! The glass is too thin and they break too easily! DO NOT BUY unless you just want some glasses to look at, but not use.

    These bowls look nice, but I agree with the other reviewers; they are too large for cereal bowls. But they are just the right size for my teenage son with his huge appetite. I also use them for salads, vegetables, and as serving dishes. The bowls are very sturdy for everyday use and stay cool when heated in the microwave.I love them.The set arrived quickly and in great packaging. I am very happy with my purchase. Thanks Amazon.

    We love these bowls. Our family eats a lot of stews and this is perfect to hold a large portion and keep it hot. In the shallower soup bowls, things get cold too fast for us. My husband likes these for cereal and oatmeal. They are on the large side so if you are looking for an average size bowl, this may not be for you. We have almost all of the Mikasa Antique White pieces and love them. They are very pretty and durable.
