   I chose this set of Christmas dishes for many reasons. One being that Pfaltzgraff has a great reputation for producing durable quality dishes. Other reasons include the fact that many accessories have been produced in the same pattern and that this pattern will be around for many years to come so additional sets or any piece that happens to get damaged will be easy to come by.

   I was at first a little apprehensive about ordering this product from Amazon after reading many reviews about pieces arriving broken but because of the price, I finally caved and hoped for the best. I am extremely pleased that I did so. Not a single piece out of 12 place settings arrived with any damage. In addition, the shipping was very quick: not even 24 hours after being notified that the product had shipped, there it was, sitting on my front porch.

   Although I cannot speak of the actual durability of the product because I have yet to use it for its intended purpose, I do recommend purchasing it through Amazon. It was a great deal with fast shipping and arrived in excellent condition.

   ITEMS WERE FINE DESPITE THE TERRIBLE PACKING INSIDE THE BOX. OUTSIDE BOX WAS DAMAGED BUT DISHES INSIDE WERE NOT BROKEN, ALTHOUGH I DON’T KNOW HOW. THERE WAS NO PACKING BETWEEN SHIPPING BOX AND DISH BOX.

   ARRIVED QUICKLY.

   These dishes are lovely and have stood up well under moderate use. However, when ordering, be aware that it is VERY likely some of the dishes will arrive broken as mine did. Since your only options are to return the entire set or keep the damaged items and receive a modest refund for them, it may be wise to order an extra set at time of purchase if you need the dishes by a certain date. It seems it would be cost effective for Amazon to invest in better packaging to avoid frequent returns/refunds.

   I ended up getting 3 of these bowls as they are so versatile…we’ve used them for everything…salad, potatoes, fruit etc. Perfect size and a great addition to our kitchen set.

   I WAS LUCKY TO PURCHASE TWO OF THESE WHEN IT WAS ON SALE. WOW, WHAT A GREAT BUY! SINCE IT IS A HOLIDAY ITEM, I HAVE NOT USED YET, BUT LOOK FORWARD TO HAVING THIS DINNERWARE GRACE MY TABLE AT CHRISTMAS. WELL WORTH THE PRICE.

   I have a huge stack of Winterberry dinner plates and salad plates that I use every day from Thanksgiving to Epiphany, and since there was a good post-holiday sale going, I thought I’d add a few items. I bought two of these 24-oz. bowls, and I’m happy with them so far. These plan red bowls can be used year-round. I’m thinking about getting a few more.

   The 24-oz. size is versatile. It’s “man-sized” for chili or stew or even rice and beans. I have used it to serve hot veggies like green peas or steamed broccoli for two. I expect to use it regularly for cold veggies: it’s about right for a pound of baby carrots or a bunch of sliced cucumbers. It’s fairly deep, so I don’t think we’ll use it for green salad.

   It’s always difficult to figure out the color of something from a picture. Every computer shows it slightly different. I usually expect a “ruby” to be a little more blue-red than orange-red or brown-red, but this is definitely not blue-red. I like the color, and I think it’s actually a good match for the red berries in the main design. However, it doesn’t match my “Empire red” KitchenAid appliances, which would have been ideal.

   The bowlwas a replacement for a set. It was not an exact match but it was an excellent match for the set.

   I bought 2 of these, and was stunned that they arrived in an Amazon box, wrapped in bubble wrap only. No Pfaltzgraff packaging, no care instructions, it was like I bought them second-hand. Makes it difficult to give as a gift. Customer service also advised me that full china service for 12 may not be Pfaltzgraff-boxed, so they apparently are getting this stuff other than from the factory. Very disappointed in that, and customer service cannot help. In fact, they sent me 2 MORE platters instead of boxes, then asked me to take them to the post office to return them. Be forewarned, their Pfaltzgraff stuff may not be properly packaged for shower or wedding or other gifts.

    Amazon had the best price around – so I bought 2. I love this pattern and was thrilled to find it for such a good price.

    I ordered several of these and gave as gifts. So many things need a platter during the holidays and this one is perfect. Everyone that I gave it to loved it.
