My wife and I have had these glasses for many years now, starting with the first version and then as we added to the set they changed some of the patterns and I think they even have colored glass versions. Sure they are brittle, we have only lost three or four in 5 years of use. The only ones we have had the problem with is the high ball, all others have not broken but get a lot less use. We put these in the dishwasher, and cycle through the set every couple days. The only real problem is that in time the glass itself loses clarity. This took a long time, the ones that did are the ones in the set about 5 years old. Macy’s always has these on sale for between 20 and 30 for a set of 4. Occasionally on a BOGO deal.
how do i water a princess mikasa orchid? what type of container should mikasa Annette it be in?
i got one as a mothers day gift and it came in a wooden container. does it need a different one filled with water?

Received them last night and was quite stunned!! The dishes were packed in 3 boxes with no breakage. The color is stunning; it looks Red to me. No problems whatsoever with the color. Each piece is heavy and well-made. It’s so beautiful, you just want to stand and stare at them! Only thing is, the platter and open dish is NOT included in this deal; you have to purchase them separately.
Do not buy these dishes the bowels are not sealed. They will absorb water instantly. The bowels will become a brownish tan which will not match the set.
I have been looking for a nice set of dinnerware for some time. I had seen this set before and liked it a lot. I love the off white because it works for any decor and any season, just change the tablecloth and accesories. The design is very delicate and elegant.

Purchased this set over 4 years ago and have used daily without quality control, shipping, chipping, absorbing, or discoloring problems. In fact, my husband loads up the dishes in the evening in our dishwasher willy-nilly. Last year I purchased Mikasa Italian Countryside 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4 to add to my set as we were hosting a family stay (including children) for an extended period of time and I didn’t want to be constantly loading/unloading the dishwasher. I still receive compliments on the dinnerware. One of the features I really like in this dinnerware is the versatility when setting the table. You can use a wide variety of tablecloths, placemats, floral pieces etc and pull it off without a problem. Although creamy white the edge of the pieces have enough detail to be interesting without being fussy. I have brought a number of complementary pieces without problems.

These are lovely cut glasses, each with its own individual design. For my taste, they are a little heavy to hold but that just encourages less wine poured into them.
My mom got these for me for Christmas. At first I thought they were just adorable! Since they were not “matching” but rather “coordinating” with 4 different etching patterns.
Then I noticed how HUGE they are. You can fit basically an entire bottle of wine into the glass, filled to the brim. Less refills
Honestly though, they’re completely fun and I’ve gotten a few compliments already from friends. The only thing I worry about is how thin they are, I am on pins and needles whenever I wash them.
I purchased these glasses as a gift. The designs are fun, and have a young feel to them. I was very disappointed when I received the package and there was one glass broken already. I returned them without any problem.
When I repurchased them again I had additional problems with easy breakage. While Mikasa has normally a great line and usually there are not any issues, I was very disappointed and will not purchase this line again due to their fragile nature. I know that any glass should be handled in a delicate matter, however, I do not think the craftsmanship was up to par on this particular product.

We love these bowls. Our family eats a lot of stews and this is perfect to hold a large portion and keep it hot. In the shallower soup bowls, things get cold too fast for us. My husband likes these for cereal and oatmeal. They are on the large side so if you are looking for an average size bowl, this may not be for you. We have almost all of the Mikasa Antique White pieces and love them. They are very pretty and durable.
The Antique White has two different table settings available. One with the rimmed soup bowls and a standard cup and saucer. That’s the one I got because I didn’t know any better and the sales person at Macy’s either didn’t know or care that the set I would have preferred had I known about it would have been the set that came with the cereal bowls and the Cappuccino mugs. So now I have both sets of bowls. Anybody want some cups and saucers?
Last year for Christmas, I received the set of Mikasa Antique White Dinnerware to replace my mutt mix of Corelle. I always swore I would only have Corelle because of its durability and longevity as opposed to stoneware. This doesn’t feel quite as destruction proof, but pretty close to it. The bowls that come with the set are wide mouthed and I’m not particularly fond of them. These cereal bowls have a much better shape, but are still quite large. I bought my mom a set or the cereal bowls for her birthday and she complains that she can only stack 3 in her cabinet. I, however, don’t have that problem with mine and love using them for anything from a large bowl of cereal to making the perfect bowl of ice cream.
These bowls look nice, but I agree with the other reviewers; they are too large for cereal bowls. But they are just the right size for my teenage son with his huge appetite. I also use them for salads, vegetables, and as serving dishes. The bowls are very sturdy for everyday use and stay cool when heated in the microwave.I love them.The set arrived quickly and in great packaging. I am very happy with my purchase. Thanks Amazon.
I was looking for something to replace the stoneware dishes that I purchased about 6 years ago. The dinner plates on my old stoneware cracked and chipped so easily that I was down to 5 from 12 orignal plates. I wanted something to last a lifetime without worrying about having to replace them in a few years. After much research, I decided on the Mikasa Antique White pattern. My only concern was that the style would be too “colonial” for my taste. I ordered them after only seeing a few pieces at a local Macy’s store. I ordered the 45 piece set from Mikasa because they had 20% off one item and free shipping. I ordered extra pieces from Amazon because they had the best price. When the dishes arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. They are beautiful and are a classic, timeless design that fits into any decor. They wash beautifully, stack easily in my cabinets and I couldn’t be more pleased with how they look and feel.
