Do not buy they are not sealed on the bottom. They absorb water and discolor they turn a brownish tan. Which will not match the rest of the set.

  1. My wife and I received this bowl as a wedding present in 2000. Nearly eight years later it is still as nice as it was new. We use it regularly and have had no issues with cracks, chips, etc. Basically the bowl looks brand new. If you like the Italian Countryside style from Mikasa, you can’t go wrong here.

  2. I registered for Italian Countryside when I got married and have been fully satisfied with it. It’s a great neutral pattern and is very sturdy and resists chipping very well. I’ve had it for 3 years and only have one small chip in the entire set. Great choice!

  3. These bowls look nice, but I agree with the other reviewers; they are too large for cereal bowls. But they are just the right size for my teenage son with his huge appetite. I also use them for salads, vegetables, and as serving dishes. The bowls are very sturdy for everyday use and stay cool when heated in the microwave.I love them. The set arrived quickly and in great packaging. I am very happy with my purchase. Thanks Amazon.

  4. The Antique White has two different table settings available. One with the rimmed soup bowls and a standard cup and saucer. That’s the one I got because I didn’t know any better and the sales person at Macy’s either didn’t know or care that the set I would have preferred had I known about it would have been the set that came with the cereal bowls and the Cappuccino mugs. So now I have both sets of bowls. Anybody want some cups and saucers?

  5. We love these bowls. Our family eats a lot of stews and this is perfect to hold a large portion and keep it hot. In the shallower soup bowls, things get cold too fast for us. My husband likes these for cereal and oatmeal. They are on the large side so if you are looking for an average size bowl, this may not be for you. We have almost all of the Mikasa Antique White pieces and love them. They are very pretty and durable.

  6. Last year for Christmas, I received the set of Mikasa Antique White Dinnerware to replace my mutt mix of Corelle. I always swore I would only have Corelle because of its durability and longevity as opposed to stoneware. This doesn’t feel quite as destruction proof, but pretty close to it. The bowls that come with the set are wide mouthed and I’m not particularly fond of them. These cereal bowls have a much better shape, but are still quite large. I bought my mom a set or the cereal bowls for her birthday and she complains that she can only stack 3 in her cabinet. I, however, don’t have that problem with mine and love using them for anything from a large bowl of cereal to making the perfect bowl of ice cream.

  7. I was looking for everyday dishes that could double for formal meals as well, and Misaka HK 400 Antique White fit the bill. I love these dishes. They are strong, fine pocelain. They do not chip and are oven and microwave safe.

  8. These little bowls nest perfectly. They hold 2/3 cup liquid in the bowl portion (up to the edge). I’m using them for fruit (of course) and for ice cream. Two average scoops look quite generous.
